Is your camera framed in landscape? (longways)
Are you in the centre of the frame?
Is the camera framed so there is little or no headroom?
Did you stabilise the camera on a surface, or use a tripod?
Did you do a test recording to make sure any vocals and backing track are balanced?
Take consideration of the background of your video, including what you are wearing and what is around you.
Remove any unnecessary objects or people in the background.
Whilst you don't need professional filming equipment, ensure that you or your submission is framed and in good lighting.
Begin the video with 2 seconds of silence before speaking
Leave 2 seconds of silence after your performance
Clearly title the video with ‘Full Name – Stage Group - Category’
Make sure that the file size is less than 1GB
Take your picture from different perspectives ie up high, down low etc. Get in close, move around or step back for different angle shots. Experiment with different settings on your camera - ie exposure modes. Take lots of photos until you are happy with one of them.
Remove anything distracting in the background of your shot. You want your talent to clearly shine through! Make sure you have a good clear or close shot of your subject.
Make sure you hold your camera still or use a tripod.
Clearly title the image with ‘Full Name – Stage Group - Category’
Make sure that the file size is less than 1GB
